About RMR Mundial

RMR Mundial exists because creativity and good ideas are everywhere — and the resources to see them through are not.

Who we are

RMR Mundial began with a realisation: a great many deeply creative Guanajuatenses lack the financial resources to pursue their dreams successfully. We also wanted to provide music lessons for children with learning differences, because training in the arts frequently provides the road to success in other areas.

Where the name comes from

RMR is drawn from our surnames — apellidos — Robinson, Muñoz and Reyes.

Mundial acknowledges that we come from different countries, and that our goals are not limited to any one place.

Our Mission

RMR Mundial helps people in Guanajuato move clear, well-developed ideas forward. Artists with a defined project may be considered for a project loan, an event opportunity or promotion. This includes musicians, dancers, painters, actors, writers, sculptors and other creators.

For children with learning differences, we provide music lessons at Manuel Doblado #12 in Guanajuato City. For small businesses, we consider thoughtful, complete plans and may offer a loan or grant depending on the proposal.

How we are organised

The organisation was officially founded and registered as an LLC in the State of Pennsylvania in 2024. RMR Mundial is not a non-profit.

Geographic reach

We have supported projects in Guanajuato City, Guanajuato State and Mexico. Future expansion is possible — that is what Mundial is there to remind us of.

Programs

Our programs are built around practical, consistent support that helps each participant experience progress and carry that confidence forward.

Current program

RMR Music Classes

RMR Music Classes provide lessons for children with learning differences. The goal is for every child to experience success through music, building confidence that can lead to success in other areas of life.

Each child receives a weekly lesson led by a local musician. Lessons are designed to meet the child where they are and give them a positive, achievable path forward.

Our Vision

What we are working toward

We envision a world where individuals can achieve their dreams because they receive the help they need.

In practice that means three things: artist support in Guanajuato for creators with a clearly defined project, small business support in Guanajuato for well-thought-out plans, and music classes for children with learning differences in Guanajuato, taught weekly by local musicians.

The Founders

Robinson · Muñoz · Reyes

Karen Robinson

Co-founder

Karen Robinson was born and raised in Rochester, New York. She left after high school to study, beginning at the University of Arizona before transferring to the University of Michigan, where she completed a bachelor's degree and a master's in Guidance and Counseling.

Her teaching and counselling career began in Ann Arbor and continued in California, Maryland, Virginia, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. She retired in 2008 and joined the Peace Corps, serving in Vanuatu from 2008 until December 2010. She moved to Guanajuato in October 2011.

Darién Muñoz Reyes

Co-founder

Darién Muñoz Reyes is a co-founder of RMR Mundial. The M and R in the organisation's name come from the surnames Muñoz and Reyes.

He has loved music for as long as he can remember. He approaches it from a spirit of sharing and makes it part of his everyday life. For him, music only has meaning when it helps him achieve something and when he can help others do the same.

Although he did not study music formally, he learned through his parents and through his Gitano family in Spain, the Parrilla family. That is where his deep love of music comes from.
